Bleck! Thank God the AC in the Paseo is absolutely ball-chilling.
An excuse to use my car that results in beer? Yes!

We got an unforecasted thunderstorm last night into this morning. Was 103 the other day and was supposed to be 98 to day, instead it’s 88 and humid, more like Hawaii storm weather, I’m used to dry air now.

I got woken up at 4am to the window screens being blown out of my windows. I got up in a haze to find that one landed on the hood of the Jag. Damage assessment TBD.

Housemate is currently trying to get sober . If I brought some home I’d have to keep it in my room and drink it warm

We just ventured out of the air conditioned house to visit my in-laws. That was a strategic mistake. Way too hot for my pampered butt. I’ll be hiding in the house for the rest of the day.

It’s 101 right now. Headed to outside dinner in 20 minutes

My wife woke up, I didn’t. Sylvie has no problem with thunder apparently. First time for that with her. It’s steamy here, I have the AC on in the bedroom.

Bucket of ice!

I’m sorry, I can’t hear you over how fucking hot it is here . If you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go start the charcoal.

Indeed, and no breeze as we had yesterday. Cliff Mass says relief, in the form of a front, will cool things back down tomorrow. Until then... think cool thoughts, as my mother would say.

Mini fridge? Not too expensive used , had one four five years. Mostly held Mountain Dews in college...

this heat wave/pandemic work from home combo is not my idea of a good time... that peanut butter blond any good?

First time I had it, I was like, “not bad, not bad at all...”
But I've now purchased it four times in a row which is not how I do beer. It's just perfect for the weather.

No room for one, unfortunately.

It’s pretty warm here as well. 83 degrees and high-ish humidity. It was more humid earlier. I may sleep in the guest room bed tonight (where my portable AC currently is). I’ve never had a need for AC is my 7 years out here .
![]() 08/16/2020 at 19:59 |

Yeah but in some other place it gets hotter with more frequency so your argument is invalid.

I just want some goddamn rain. Looks promising right now, but I think it is too hot. Gonna go the whole monsoon season without a monsoon.

Oh it has been pretty hot a few times over here in the past few years , we have to keep it on some days if we are at work because it’s too much for a bulldog. It gets hotter here than Hawaii, I’ve used it a few times.

It went from hot as balls to jacket weather in Philly over the course of about 16 hours. I’d rather have consistent hot, I think.

Oh no!

That is certified Hot™ but how's the humidity?
![]() 08/16/2020 at 20:56 |

It’s only 91 now, not so bad
![]() 08/16/2020 at 20:57 |

I will give you that is ballz hot for the PNW. Most people go there in the summer to escape the heat.
Central Alabama was a balmy 94 today so I was outside doing yard work. About average. We tend to dodge a lot of these freak heat waves because the Gulf moisture pushes everything north. So we stay predictably hot, we just rarely get Crazy Hot.

I would build a French cleat and wall hang your fridge if I were closer.
![]() 08/16/2020 at 21:50 |

But it is hotter feeling here when it’s this hot. Like instant covered in sweat hot when it exceeds 85°F here. It’s the high humidity like the south.

The real kicker was that I was at the grocery store today and the load on the power grid caused an outage. If I came 15 minutes later I wouldn’t have been allowed in to buy groceries.
The grid up here isn’t able to handle everyone running A/C all day in suburban/exurban/rural homes.

Well, it d oes get pretty warm on the North African coast.

Yeah, but it’s Utah, so it’s a ridiculously dry heat. Makes Arizona dry seem wet.
